Picolo Cards For Video Surveillance Applications

Multipix Imaging has launched three Picolo capture and H.264 compression cards from Euresys, suitable for video surveillance applications. The Picolo U4 H.264, the Picolo U8 H.264 and the Picolo U16 H.264 feature four, eight and 16 video input channels respectively, along with an audio capability. The cards deliver several output streams per video input; these include an H.264 compressed stream for high-quality recording on hard disks and an uncompressed stream for the immediate display of the camera signal and for the application of real-time video analytics.

Output streams are completely independent, facilitating integration. These PCI Express cards are equipped with four, eight or 16 high-quality audio inputs as well as eight, 16 or 32 input/output (I/O) lines. Available with Windows Directshow and Linux drivers, the Picolo U4 H.264, the Picolo U8 H.264 and the Picolo U16 H.264 are said to be simple to use and can be immediately integrated into any DVR or CCTV application design. Cables with BNC video connectors are available for the immediate evaluation of cards.
