Miniature Switch Targets Space-Constrained Systems

Rutronik is offering C and K's halogen-free ultra-miniature tactile switch for use in space-constrained applications such as hearing aids, mobile phones, MP3 accessories and Bluetooth headsets. Measuring 2.6 x 3 x 0.65mm, with a 0.45mm body, the top-actuated tactile switch enables customers to meet miniaturisation and ultra-high-reliability needs, while conforming to environmental requirements.

Featuring an integrated push plate and a ground-pin option for ESD protection, the SPST NO halogen-free switches are available with gold- and silver-plating options, and actuation-force options 1.6N (tactile ratio 30 per cent) for mobile devices and 1.0N (tactile ratio 10 per cent) for hearing aids and headsets. Electrical and mechanical life cycles limit is 150,000. The integrated actuator allows for simpler button design while yielding a tactile ratio of 30 per cent minimum, providing sharp feedback. Operating temperature ranges from -40 to 85C. Actuator height is 0.2mm and travel is 0.13mm.
