Scottish Water Selects Verder Peristaltic Pumps

Pumping solutions specialist Verder has been awarded a framework agreement by Scottish Water to supply its peristaltic pumps. Scottish Water has a commitment to deliver water and wastewater to personal and business customers across Scotland. To be able to deliver on this promise, it needed to establish long-term framework agreements with manufacturers and service providers including Verder.

Verder said it had to undergo a rigorous tendering procedure before Scottish Water concluded that it provided the most economically advantageous tender. The company added that, according to Scottish Water, Verder reflected the goals and values of Scottish Water in that its products would deliver measurable added value, its business approach would work in creating excellence in supply chain partnering and its supplied products would compete through superior underlying value.

Verder works closely with all its customers, offering help and advice as well as supplying a product with technical support. Verder said it was thrilled that Scottish Water concluded that the Verderflex range of pumps provided the best added value, and aims to enhance this even further over the framework period by introducing the Dura range of peristaltic pumps.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
