Insys Routers Enable Industrial Data Communication
Insys' Moros line of routers for industrial data communication are now available as revised Version 2.1 models. They combine the functions of a modem, router and four-port switch in one compact DIN rail housing. The models bring a range of new features aimed at the increasing use of Remote Device Management and Services, including the integrated 'sandbox' - a Linux runtime environment that allows users to build and execute their own custom-tailored applications and scripts directly on the router.
This enables the implementation of extended functionality such as data logger, data analysis, protocol conversion or dynamic configurations. The new units have also added the IPsec protocol to the existing OpenVPN and firewall security features. The VPN functionality enables the devices to establish secure, confidential connections between company networks, single computers or Ethernet-capable components. Moros GPRS now supports the faster Edge standard for data rates of up to 236kB/s in GSM mobile radio networks.
The Moros range communicates via all current telephone and mobile-communication networks, such as PSTN, GPRS/Edge and UMTS/3G as required. Communication from or to the remote station is established directly or via the internet.
