Flir Offers Reduced-Price Compact Infrared Camera

Flir Systems has announced a reduced price for its i5 compact infrared camera, which can be used for a range of predictive maintenance and building applications. The camera enables problem areas to be clearly seen on a crisp thermal image. The i5 is now priced at GBP1,595, nearly a third less than its purchase price when it was introduced in 2008.

This camera is said to be simple to use; the user just points, shoots and detects. The automotive sector can also benefit from Flir thermal imaging for driver vision enhancement. BMW, for example, incorporates Flir's infrared cameras in its cars. The company's cameras are also suitable for the maritime, security, surveillance and other commercial markets.
