EMKA Offers Low-Cost Locks For Office Furniture

EMKA is offering low-cost locks for office furniture, cupboards, alarms, lockers and toolboxes with the Fort range of products. The range includes barrels, cam-locks and special locks with the Fort key system, which uses standard UK mounting-hole dimensions of 16.6 x 19.1mm. A total of 500 key combinations are available for popular styles, such as the K8, K9 and K10 locks. The range offers several variants of barrel length, cam type and key rotation (1/4 or 1/2 turn), as well as key-removal possibilities in four different modes.

These allow the key to be retained or removed in open, closed or locked positions. Cylinders may be mounted with a back nut or by means of a spring slide clip for speed. It is also possible to specify lock barrels sealed against adverse weather conditions. The full Fort programme includes a number of hand-knob latches and recessed cabinet handles. Made-to-measure custom barrels are also possible in standard diameters of 10, 12 and 13.5mm.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
