Superior Phase Noise Performance, Enhanced Accuracy and New Features

Fluke Calibration, a global leader in electronic test and measurement technology, has introduced the new and improved Fluke 9640A LPNX Series RF Reference Sources, designed as the essential core of any RF and microwave calibration system, typically halving the cost of a high performance system.

Calibration lab managers and staff face a common need to increase productivity, boost efficiency and complete more calibration tasks in less time. Unlike general purpose signal generators, the Fluke 9640A LPNX (low phase noise, extended performance) Series dramatically improves efficiency and capacity by reducing complexity, de-skilling, and speeding up calibration times. Automating calibrations using Fluke Calibration MET/CAL® software to take control of the unit or device under test can increase system capacity by up to 25 percent and free up 50 percent more of the system operator’s time to perform other value-adding tasks.

Primarily engineered for RF and microwave calibration laboratories, third party calibration providers and in-house calibration facilities, the 9640A LPNX Series RF Reference Sources are also ideal for R&D, engineering and manufacturing test and scientific research applications. Their unique combination of level and attenuation accuracy, signal purity and low jitter, frequency resolution, dynamic range and precision modulation deliver better performance than any high performance signal generator.

Fluke Calibration has improved level and attenuation accuracy of the 9640A RF Reference Sources, to offer better test uncertainty ratio against the most demanding calibration workload. The new 9640A-LPNX low phase noise model provides state-of-the-art low phase noise and jitter over an extended range of offset frequencies. An optional integrated frequency counter for reference frequency calibration and unique 10 uHz frequency setting resolution throughout an extended 1 mHz to 4 GHz range are among the new features in the 9640A LPNX models that add capability, further reducing system instrument count and support costs and benefiting transportability for on-site calibrations.

The added functionality, better accuracy and improved phase noise performance are included with no price increases compared to the previous 9640A-LPN and 9640A-STD models. Existing 9640A series users may upgrade to the latest 9640A-LPNX RF Reference Source capability.

Fluke Calibration also introduced a new accessory: the 9600FLT 1 GHz Wide Offset Phase Noise Filter. In keeping with established use of filters to improve tight test margins at high offset frequencies for high performance spectrum analyzer calibration, this accessory is designed for easy connection and convenient mounting to 9640A models in either bench top or rack-mounted applications.
