Emerson Introduces the New PowerSureTM CM Series, a Compact, Weather-Resistant Surge Protector

Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and a global leader in maximizing the availability, capacity and efficiency of critical infrastructure, is pleased to announce the addition of the new PowerSure™ CM Series to the Emerson Network Power family of surge protection products.

PowerSure™ CM Series surge protective devices (SPDs) are designed to help prevent electric power line disturbances from disrupting or damaging sensitive electronic equipment. These compact AC power surge protectors are rated at 50kA per mode and housed in a weather-resistant (UL Type 4X) enclosure, so they can be installed virtually anywhere in the customer’s electrical system.

“Our goal is to keep power problems from entering a facility in the first place so we can help protect customers’ productivity and ultimately, their revenue,” says Eric Marshall, director of sales and marketing, surge protection products, for Emerson Network Power. “We developed these devices in a smaller size to make them ideal for retrofit applications where space may be limited.”

An optional DIN rail mounting assembly allows customers to install the PowerSure™ CM Series on standard 35mm industrial DIN rails. It can also be screw-mounted.

The PowerSure™ CM Series also features remote indication of protection status via both LEDs and summary alarm contacts.

The PowerSure™ CM Series is ANSI/UL 1449 Third Edition listed for Type 1 locations with an I-nominal (In) of 20kA and a SSCR of 200kAIC. The line is available in voltages ranging from 120V to 480V, and in single-, split-, and three-phase models. All backed by a five-year warranty.
