Matrox DualHead2Go Drives Multiple Monitors and Projectors for Three New Movieland Park Attractions

Matrox Graphics today announced that Italy’s Movieland Park has selected the Matrox DualHead2Go external multi-display adapter to drive three new multi-display and multi-projector attractions at their amusement park on Lake Garda. DualHead2Go adds two monitors or projectors to a single desktop computer and uniquely leverages the host graphics card to render multimedia content across highly immersive, multi-screen environments.

Movieland Park required a multi-display solution capable of running 3D graphics across multiple displays and projectors for three upcoming attractions: a four-projector Police Academy simulation, a Terminator 5D game, and a dual-touchscreen panel for the Night Festival discothèque. The park considered several hardware options including a third-party high-performance graphics card in conjunction with a dual-graphics card approach in the same system, but the solution resulted in poor image alignment, system overheating and instability, and power-consumption issues.

The IT staff then evaluated the Matrox DualHead2Go and discovered that its external design, dual-screen connectivity options, and ability to harness the system’s GPU to deliver uncompressed graphics matched their deployment requirements perfectly. Today, Movieland Park uses the DualHead2Go to showcase uncompromised content across larger, digitally-enhanced environments, in what management now considers to be some of the amusement park’s biggest draws.

“With DualHead2Go, we were fortunate to find an inexpensive, easy-to-install solution that solved our various multi-projector and multi-monitor challenges,” said Claudio Castagnetti, Art-Department & ICT Team Leader, Movieland Park. “This solution has allowed us to standardize our multi-display technology for a wide variety of applications, making it considerably easier for both installation and maintenance purposes.”
