New Pfeiffer Vacuum Display Case for Technical College
- Vacuum technology presented attractively
- End products show the applications
- Presentation as a regional employer
In addition to various vacuum pumps, products are displayed that could not be manufactured without a vacuum - freeze-dried coffee, for example. For its production, moisture is carefully removed at temperatures up to -72 °C. During this process, single or multi-stage vacuum systems are used. A graphic displaying the pressure ranges from atmospheric pressure to ultra high-vacuum and a list of corresponding uses round out the exhibition.
Without vacuum technology, it would be impossible to realize many modern innovative processes and products. The production of microprocessors and flat screens, coatings for solar panels and lenses for glasses, and leakage tests for airbags are just a few examples. Pfeiffer Vacuum products are even being used in space, on board the international space station ISS.
Along with the growth of the application fields for vacuum technology, the need for qualified employees is also increasing. The THM is therefore offering aspiring engineers a special “Vacuum Technology“ model as a lecture course and lab practicum.
Pfeiffer Vacuum itself employs many THM graduates. The former students are working, for example, with the development, manufacture, and sales of vacuum pumps and components. Mechanical engineers focus on the mechanics, electrical engineers on drive electronics, and computer scientists work on control programming. But the graduates can also be found within the company's administrative ranks. In addition, Pfeiffer Vacuum is a member company of the dual training program StudiumPlus, a study program that combines theory with operational practice.
