Halogen-Free Wire Duct for Use in Public Areas

Phoenix Contact now offers a halogen-free version of its wire duct product for use in high foot traffic areas. In addition, new rivets, riveting tools and a hand-held wire duct cutter make the wire duct easier to install.

The halogen-free wire duct is designed for use in public areas that demand increased safety from toxic smoke in the case of fire. It is ideal for locations such as airports, subways, commuter rail cars or buses, office buildings and offshore housing locations.

Like Phoenix Contact’s standard wire duct, it features an easy-on/easy-off cover, a single part number for both the duct and cover and two score lines for easier removal of fingers and wall. The halogen-free wire duct is available in the same height and width dimensions and two meter lengths as Phoenix Contact’s standard wire duct. The halogen-free wire duct is rated for an extended temperature range from -25 to 90 degrees Celsius.

Several new accessories make it easier to mount the wire duct in control cabinets. New nylon and aluminum rivets are available in a variety of diameters and thicknesses. Riveting tools are available for both the nylon and aluminum rivets, enabling quick connection within the control cabinet. The Cutfox-CD can cut wire duct up to 75 mm wide and 2.5 mm thick on an angle of up to 45 degrees.
