Low-Profile Power Supplies for Operator Panels
Phoenix Contact has launched the low-profile Step power supply, which has an assembled depth of 61mm and is suitable for installation in small distribution boards and operator panels. Mounting is flexible as the power supplies can be installed onto DIN rails or directly fixed onto plane surfaces such as walls. For even lower-profile applications or for horizontal mounting, the latest addition to the Step range is a 24DC 0.75A rated power supply, which has a depth of 43.5mm.
The compact 36, 54, 72 and 90mm modules cover the complete voltage range of 5, 12, 24 and 48VDC. The more common 24DC output voltage devices are available with outputs ranging from 0.5A to 4.2A, while the 12DC output devices deliver 1.5 up to 5A. Worldwide use is possible thanks to a wide-range input of 85-264VAC and 95-250VDC and a broad temperature range of -25C to +70C. A long mains-failure bridging allows the power supplies to support loads reliably during short-term mains voltage fluctuations.
Another feature for all but the 36mm-wide versions is that the rated output voltages of 12 and 24VDC can be continuously adjusted via the front-side potentiometer from 10-16.5VDC and from 22.5 to 29.5VDC in order to compensate for voltage drops on long cables. The reliable power supply units also feature parallel connections for increased performance and redundancy.
