Johnston Press Installs Boge Screw Compressors

Johnston Press has installed two Boge SLF 75 frequency-controlled screw compressors, along with a Boge S 75 screw compressor, at its expanded printing centre in County Armagh. As part of the expansion plans, the M and E contractor established that the existing compressed-air system would not be able to meet the new compressed-air requirements and recommended replacing the existing system with one Boge S 75 screw compressor, alongside two Boge SLF 75 series frequency-controlled screw compressors.

The Boge SLF series frequency-controlled screw compressors combine a direct coupled drive system with frequency control to provide pressure control under variable output requirements. The SLF is therefore a low-carbon technology that works strictly in accordance with the compressed-air demand by producing the exact volume of compressed air at the pressure required. Frequency control minimises idling time and evens out air-demand fluctuations.
