Aptifirst Releases Rugged Triaxial Accelerometers

The CTA306 series of triaxial accelerometers from Aptifirst are suitable for sports dynamics, aerospace, defence, civil engineering, theme park, marine, offshore, rail and road transport applications. The accelerometers are designed specifically to mechanically filter out vibrations at frequencies over 20Hz so that low-frequency vibrations may be measured accurately in vibrationally noisy environments. Ranges available are +/-2g to +/-30g, the different axes can be fitted with different ranges if required and they have an over-range capacity of 20,000g.

They allow true inertial measurements in vehicles. The CTA306 is housed in an IP65 aluminium housing measuring 35 x 35 x 16mm and is based around MEMS-precision micro-machined silicon capacitative devices. They have an integral amplifier with a choice of 5VDC or 8-16VDC supply voltages and provide an output of 0.5V to 4.5V, with a 2.5V offset (or +/-2V with the 2.5V point representing zero).

The operating temperature range is -20C to +100C, with the compensated range being +20C to +100C. Linearity is +/-1 per cent of full-scale output. As standard, the CTA306 is supplied with a 1m screened flying lead, although other lengths or a sub-miniature mil-spec chassis plug connector are available to order.
