D-Sub Hoods for Locking in Hard-to-Access Areas

Provertha's 'quick-lock' D-sub hoods are fitted with a push-pull locking mechanism that provides fast, secure locking with one-handed, blind-mating assembly in places that are difficult to access. The hood snaps in automatically with an audible click.

The Provertha range of plastic, metallised-plastic and die-cast hoods are available in 42 and 56mm lengths, and provide full 360deg EMC/RFI shielding and high levels of vibration-proof strain relief. They are suitable for all standard D-sub connector sizes. The 'quick-lock' system offers a complete cable-fixing solution with use of a crimp flange or internal or external clamps and has full automotive approval.

FUSE SIZING CONSIDERATIONS FOR HIGHER EFFICIENCY MOTORS

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
