Laidler Arranges Machinery Safety Training Courses

Laidler Associates is running its University Certificate in Professional Development (UCPD) on European machinery safety at four locations throughout 2011. The UCPD course includes a week's classroom training, which covers in detail the regulatory framework relating to machine safety and will inform attendees on CE marking, PUWER, mechanical EN standards, electrical EN standards and practical risk assessment.

Once the training is complete, the students then have 16 weeks of distance learning to complete their final assessment, which consists of the PUWER assessment and CE marking of a machine using Laidler's virtual-reality package. Not only is the UCPD course university accredited, it also offers successful participants university credits that can be used towards additional formal qualifications.

Details of the UCPD courses are as follows: a Bolton University course will take place on 28 March 2011 at the Ramada Hotel in Bolton; a Solihull University course will take place on 23 May 2011 at the Ramada Hotel in Solihull; a Newbury University course will be held on 20 June 2011 at the Ramada Hotel, Newbury; a Billingham UCPD course will take place on 11 July 2011 at the Belasis Business Centre in Billingham; a second Bolton University course will be held on 26 September 2011 at the Ramada Hotel in Bolton; a Solihull University course will take place on 17 October 2011 at the Ramada Hotel in Solihull; and a final Newbury University course will be held on 21 November 2011 at the Ramada Hotel in Newbury.
