Renishaw Products Increase Automation Productivity
At Southern Manufacturing 2011, Renishaw will be exhibiting its range of products designed to enhance machine automation, minimise manual intervention and reduce the level of rework and scrap. Many of the products will reflect the accelerating swing to one-hit machining using five-axis machining centres. For example there will be a new five-axis probe head for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) which, it is claimed, can give up to a three-fold increase in throughput for touch-trigger measurement.
A new wireless ballbar used for monitoring machine-tool positioning and servo-control now features Bluetooth wireless technology and can produce a representative volumetric measurement of positioning accuracy. Also on show will be AxiSet Check-Up, a new automated solution that allows users of five-axis and mill-turn machine tools to quickly check the alignment and positioning performance of rotary axes. New encoders with a resolution of 1nm at speeds of up to 100m/sec will be unveiled.
