PTC Introduces 3D Technical Illustration Software
Creo Illustrate from PTC enables users to create rich 3D technical illustrations that can be used to communicate complex products and procedures clearly for technical and service information. It can interact with design and engineering data directly from 3D computer-aided design (CAD) and maintain associativity throughout the lifecycle of the illustrations to ensure updates occur. The software can also leverage metadata from the CAD files to produce parts lists quickly and to apply call-outs automatically.
It is also said to be effective at creating service bills of materials to produce information structures for parts and service procedures. Creo Illustrate can generate 3D animations that describe complex procedures and can be viewed from any perspective. In addition, it can develop multiple figures in a single illustration to accurately communicate step-by-step procedures as well as illustrating the dynamic sectioning of complex assemblies to facilitate the viewing of internal components. Finally, 3D files can be repurposed from Creo Illustrate in Arbortext Isodraw to support all 2D deliverables.
