Enclosures Handle Tough Environmental Conditions

Eaton's enclosures are designed to cover virtually every control and power distribution requirement and can withstand tough environmental conditions. The company's portfolio of enclosure solutions includes wall- and floor-mounting options, modular all-insulated products, flat-pack enclosure systems and a readily configurable switchboard system. The CS series sheet-steel wall-mounting enclosures are designed with a robust construction and incorporate polyurethane seals.

The enclosures provide IP55 protection, allowing them to withstand tough environmental conditions, and their corrosion-resistant finish ensures that they are maintenance free. According to Eaton, CS enclosures offer a convenient and cost-effective choice for applications that include small motor control panels and sub-distribution systems. For applications where totally insulated enclosures are preferred, the company offers its Halyester multi-box-type enclosure system, which features glass-fibre-reinforced and polyester products that are suitable for use both indoors and outdoors.

Halyester is a modular system that has been type tested in accordance with IEC 60439-1 to ensure operator safety. Halyester enclosures can be used to fabricate low-voltage assemblies with IP66 protection and Form 4a separation. Complementing the wall-mounting CS and Halyester ranges, Eaton's floor-standing XVTL enclosures are designed primarily to accommodate larger control and power distribution systems in industrial and commercial applications. Fabricated from high-quality sheet steel, they are offered in around 55 sizes with a choice of IP40 or IP55 protection.

The company's Profi+ enclosure range includes both wall- and floor-mounting enclosures, all of which are supplied in flat-pack form, making them simple to handle and store prior to use. A high level of standardisation makes these steel enclosures, which are available in IP30 and IP54 versions, fast and straightforward to assemble, while their modular design provides versatility, according to Eaton. Profi+ enclosures support multi-wiring systems and provide ample space for cable ducts. Customised LV distribution boards with high power and fault ratings can be built with the company's Xenergy switchboard enclosure system.

This system is suitable for use in building infrastructure applications up to 4,000A and simplifies the design and construction of fully type-tested assemblies. Xenergy products can be supplied pre-assembled or in flat-pack form and are complemented by the availability of a range of Eaton components and integrated systems for switchboard applications.
