Promass 83F Passes The Nuclear Test
Following a rigorous assessment, Endress+Hauser's Promass 83F Coriolis flowmeter has been substantiated for use in safety circuits within the nuclear industry to Safety Integrity at SIL1.
An Engineering Assessment Report conducted by Sellafield Ltd looked closely at the production of the Promass 83F and confirmed both its suitability for use in safety applications and Endress+Hauser's ability to provide an acceptable standard of support to the end-users of their equipment.
The assessment aims to give end users confidence in the integrity of the instrument. To this end, Endress+Hauser confirmed that since the year 2000 and based on over 160,000 Promass 83 instruments sold, there has never been a reported fault on the HART communications module affecting the safety function of the instrument.
