New iQ Platform Ethernet/IP Scanner Now Available

Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. proud to announce the availability of an EtherNet/IP Scanner module for the iQ Platform control system. Now customers can easily integrate the Mitsubishi Electric iQ Platform system with other EtherNet/IP connected third party CPUs and directly control EtherNet/IP distributed devices such as I/O (Block or Point), Drives and other devices.

EtherNet/IPTM was introduced in 2001 and today is a industrial Ethernet network solution available for manufacturing automation. EtherNet/IPTM is a member of a family of networks that implements the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP™) at its upper layers. CIP encompasses a suite of messages and services for a variety of manufacturing automation applications.

Mitsubishi Electric offers an EtherNet/IPTM Scanner for the iQ Platform. The EIP4CCPU allows the iQ Platform to talk with other EtherNet/IPTM connected third party CPUs, such as ControlLogixTM or CompactLogixTM, to share data and to directly control EtherNet/IPTM distributed devices such as I/O (Block or Point), Drives and other devices.
