SNAP 2-channel 1000 Ohm Platinum RTD Analog Temperature Input Module

The SNAP-AIRTD-1K provides two channels of analog temperature input. Nominal input temperature range is -200 to +850 degrees C. Input range is 0-4000 ohms. Although the two channels are not isolated from each other, the module is transformer isolated and optically isolated from other modules and devices. Modules are factory calibrated.

The SNAP-AIRTD-1K is suitable for 2- and 3-wire 1000-ohm probes typically used in building automation HVAC systems:

PT1000 (0.000385)
Ni1000 (0.006180)
Ni1000 (0.006370)

Part of the SNAP PAC System, the module mounts on a SNAP PAC rack with a SNAP PAC brain or rack-mounted controller. Analog, digital, and serial I/O modules can all be on the same rack. Such an I/O unit is also well suited for PC-based control or for use as intelligent remote I/O for an Allen-Bradley RSLogix PLC system, such as ControlLogix, MicroLogix, or CompactLogix.

The SNAP-AIRTD-1K uses 1000 ohm platinum inputs. For other similar modules, see the SNAP-AIRTD (100 ohm platinum) and the SNAP-AIRTD-10 (10 ohm copper).

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
