Cooper Crouse-Hinds Introduces PowerGrip™ MSB Bracketed Boxes for Fast, Secure Installation
Understanding that contractors are continually looking for ways to improve jobsite efficiency, Cooper Crouse-Hinds, a leader in electrical products that provide safety, productivity, innovation and labor savings in hazardous, industrial and commercial environments, has developed and introduced a broad offering of PowerGrip™ MSB bracketed boxes.
Designed for metal studs, PowerGrip™ MSB bracketed boxes offer a secure, quick and easy, tool-free, ”snap-on” installation. The complete line of boxes include innovative features such as a center alignment viewing hole to make stud markings easy to find; a score line for optional removal of near-side portion when installing next to door jams; and a strong, sturdy far-side support for a dependable professional installation. Each box is supplied as a complete unit with the far-side support packaged inside the outlet box and held in place with a paper retainer to ensure everything needed for the installation is readily available.
“Our goal with the PowerGrip™ line of MSB bracketed boxes was to not only improve the mounting bracket, but to also develop a broad offering of configurations contractors require,” said Grant Gawronski, President, Cooper Crouse-Hinds. “Including shallow, deep and even red boxes for fire alarm
applications, our full line of MSB bracketed boxes make the entire process quick and easy so contractors can save time and, more importantly, money.”
With a full breadth of product designed to give customers the broadest offering, PowerGrip™ MSB bracketed boxes include shallow and deep 4 inch and 4 11/16 inch square boxes ideal for use with conduit; armored/metal clad cable; non-metallic sheathed cable; red boxes for fire alarm applications; and Cooper Crouse-Hinds’ innovative open back boxes. All are manufactured from special spring steel for easy-installation and have the ability to mount on either side of the stud. In addition to the center bracket viewing hole, each bracket also has top and bottom holes for installation of optional low-profile mounting screws, if desired.
The far side support included simply slides over the edge of the box to provide solid, secure far-side support in 2 ½ inch and 4 inch studs. PowerGrip™ boxes accept standard plaster and tile rings, are available with an optional ground screw and 8 inch solid ground pigtail and are UL approved for both NEC and CEC installations.
