Contact Expansion PNOZ s22 – Twice as Good

With relay functions that can be controlled separately

A new highlight from the PNOZsigma range of safety relays provides two relay functions that can be controlled separately in accordance with PL e of EN ISO 13849-1. Each relay function provides 3 N/O / 1 N/C contacts, thus providing a total of 6 N/O / 2 N/C. These can be controlled separately, so that the outputs can be assigned different functions, depending on the base unit. Safe separation between the two relay functions enables different potentials to be switched.
The contact expansion module PNOZ s22 is suitable for connection to
  • The base units PNOZ mm0.1p and PNOZ mm0.2p of the configurable safety relays PNOZmulti Mini: PNOZ s22 provides relay outputs that enable volt-free switching. Configuration is via the familiar PNOZmulti Configurator
  • The safe speed monitor PNOZ s30: Function can be expanded by duplicating the output contacts
Our units achieve Performance Level (PL) e of EN ISO 13849-1 and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) CL claim limit 3 of IEC 62061. The category of EN 954-1 depends on the base unit.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays.
