Panduit Data Center Solutions Showcasing New Features of Physical Infrastructure Manager Platform at Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2011
Panduit Corp., a global leader in Unified Physical InfrastructureSM (UPI)-based solutions, is proud to be an exhibitor at this year’s Gartner Symposium / ITxpo 2011 in Orlando, FL, October 16-20. At the event Panduit will demonstrate the business value of Smart Data Center Solutions and how they help organizations evolve to meet the growing adoption of data center infrastructure management (DCIM) tools.
Panduit Smart Data Center Solutions leverage an optimized physical infrastructure as the foundation to enable convergence across communication, computing, control, power and security systems. By aligning the physical infrastructure to the logical systems architecture, Panduit UPI-based solutions drive operational cost savings, improved efficiency and reliability, and sustainability practices. These end-to-end, innovatively engineered solutions serve to simplify next generation network architectures and deliver advantages in data center planning, design, operation, and management.
At Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2011 Panduit will showcase its Physical Infrastructure Manager™ (PIM™) 4.3 Software Platform, which lays the foundation for effective Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) through accurate and automated documentation of physical assets by monitoring power consumption, heat dissipation, space allocation, and connectivity management. This latest release features on- and off-network IT asset tracking with barcode system process integration and a Data Loader import/export tool for accelerated deployment.
“We selected Panduit’s Physical Infrastructure Management™ (PIM™) Software Platform and PanView iQ (PViQ™) System Hardware to aid us in tracking our IT assets, monitoring power utilization and managing connectivity, which provide guidance for our capacity planning needs,” said Dan Siebert, IT Project Manager, Silver Cross Hospital. “We are committed to our culture of excellence, and to delivering an unrivalled healthcare experience for our patients, their families and the community. Because we are building a new hospital and data center, this is a perfect time to incorporate Panduit’s Physical Infrastructure Management solution.”
The PIM™ software platform provides visibility into asset moves, adds and changes (MACs), process-driven integration with applicable management systems, and data aggregation for holistic capacity planning taking into account all properties of the asset and its effect on the data center environment. In this way the PIM™ 4.3 Software Platform demonstrates Panduit’s holistic approach to the IT enterprise, leveraging a robust technology partner ecosystem to help businesses address risks surrounding key IT activities such as consolidation, virtualization, automation, growth management, and energy conservation.
