ERG Driver Boards Power Up To Eight LED Strings

Endicott Research Group (ERG) is offering two LED driver boards that are suitable for high-power, high-brightness LED BLUs used in LCDs in the 10.4in-24in diagonal range. The SFDK Series is a high-efficiency, dual-output driver board with connectors on both sides of the PCB. It provides a plug-and-play solution for powering LED BLUs in LCDs up to 22in diagonal. The SFDK offers FPC (flat panel compatible) headers in addition to the standard wire-to-board connections, with the interface between the driver and panel consisting of 0.5mm flat-flex cable (FFC) with six, eight, 10 or 12 positions, depending on the display.

It has a maximum current of 320mA and can power up to eight LED strings with a maximum of four on each side. The SFDK has a profile of less than 8mm and measures 1.15in (29.2mm) x 4.59in (116.5mm). It provides brightness stability over a wide input voltage (10-20V, with 5V available), external PWM dimming to 500:1 and is compatible with a number of OEM LED-backlit panels. ERG's SFD2E LED driver is a version of ERG's compact SFDE driver (E for economical) that packs high power into a compact board.

It can efficiently drive up to eight LED strings from one output at a maximum current of 480mA. It features a wide input voltage design (8-20V), external PWM dimming to 500:1 and onboard dimming to 255:1.

The SFD2E measures 1.115in (28.32mm) wide by 4.585in (116.5mm) long and has a profile of less than 10mm. It is available with a J12 output connector that is FFC/FPC compatible. The SFD2E is designed for compatibility with a variety of OEM LCD panels. Both the SFDK and SFD2E Series driver boards are supplied with a one-year warranty and are designed, manufactured and supported in the US.
