Air Compressor Powers PET Blow Moulding Machines

Thorite has supplied and installed a Compair high-pressure air compressor and pipework for a production plant belonging to household and personal care products manufacturer McBride. At McBride's Burnley plant, the compressor is delivering compressed air at 40 bar to power three PET blow moulding machines. The company plans to invest in four machines to meet an increased demand for trigger spray bottles containing antiseptics or cleaning products, which the blow moulding machines manufacture.

'After problems we've experienced in the past with our old compressor set up, the machine from Thorite performs a lot better and will hopefully ensure that we can rely on peak production for the foreseeable future,' said David Slater, McBride's engineering supervisor. McBride specialises in five product categories: laundry liquids, automatic dishwasher tablets, personal care, air care and specialist cleaners.
