Mini Bayonet Connectors for Harsh Environments

Aerco has announced that it is now the sole assembler for the Deutsch Pattern 602 connectors, which are suitable for use in harsh environments in the civil, defence and aerospace industries. Aerco offers a one-stop shop for a full range of Pattern 602 connectors including EMC grounded versions, rubbed coupling nuts and orientated connectors. These connectors will be available from stock or on a five-working-day lead time, and will be supplied without any minimum order quantities.

Pattern 602 connectors are lightweight, miniature bayonet connectors. Aerco is qualified to supply parts under the Pattern 602 part number make-up, Panavia specification (PAN6432-1 and PAN6432-4) or Deutsch proprietary RR series. All parts meet the requirements of MIL-C-26462 series 2. The range is available in high-strength aluminium with cadmium plating as standard and electro-less nickel as an option. They feature rear insertion and release, gold-plated contacts and have an operating temperature of -65C to +200C.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
