Abrasive Regulator for Waterjet Cutting Machines

Accustream has announced that the latest version of its Abrasive Regulator is now available, offering high accuracy in the dispensing of abrasive and optimising consumption. Abrasive Regulator 2 can be fitted to new waterjet machines with an Accustream intensifier and can also be retrofitted to most other leading waterjet manufacturers' products. It has 30 different precision settings for flows of 0-500g of abrasive per minute.

This finely tuned delivery can also be adjusted with no interruption to the cutting process. The adjustments are made instantly through a turn of the accurate dial. This accuracy is in contrast to older alternative abrasive regulators, which only have one setting for abrasive flow resulting both in wastage and no optimisation of the cutting process. In operation, an acrylic canister gives the operator visual confirmation of abrasive delivery.

There are simple air-to-open and ait-to-close controls and a built-in backflow diverter. The Abrasive Regulator 2 is compact and lightweight, making it easy to fit. It can be adapted to any waterjet cutting system. Accustream said that with a low capital cost, investment in the Abrasive Regulator 2 will provide fast payback through cost savings on abrasives and reduction in downtime when adjusting abrasive flow to suit material thickness to be cut.
