Radar Systems Incorporate Telit GSM/GPRS Module
Telit Wireless Solutions has announced it will supply Coyote System with GE865-QUAD modules over the next two years for use in GPS radar warning systems. The radar warning systems distributed by Coyote transmit in real-time the speed limit and alerts drivers of mobile and fixed speed cameras, as well as traffic incidents. Currently used in France, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and the Czech Republic, these radar warning systems have more than 600,000 users.
Coyote System's expanded partnership with Telit also includes co-branding, illustrating that Telit technology is inside the device. Beyond Coyote System, companies from the fields of tracking, telematics, fleet management and e-health are also using the GE865-QUAD. With its compact size and efficient energy usage, the M2M module is suitable for use in even the smallest mobile devices. Another feature of the device is the remote AT service, developed by Telit to allow AT commands to be sent to the module via SMS or TCP.
Telit is also offering its customers a new service, Premium FOTA Management, which simplifies the maintenance of applications even further. Changes in the network or a new software version can lead to applications malfunctioning, which means that the module firmware has to be updated regularly. With Premium FOTA Management, companies can quickly upload these updates remotely, extending the application lifecycle and allowing companies to reduce maintenance costs.
