Kubota Tractor Helps Maintain Grounds At Resort
Kubota has revealed that Orchard View Caravan Park and Camping Site uses its BX2350 sub-compact tractor to maintain the holiday resort's grounds to high standards. Ray Oddy, owner of Orchard View, said he bought the Kubota three years ago due to the equipment's reliability. He said: 'I was looking for a compact tractor with PTO and the power to operate effectively with a variety of different attachments. 'I know people who have had Kubota tractors for 15 or 20 years and every day they just jump in, turn the key, and go to work - there are never any reliability issues.
'That is essential for me because I need to use the tractor day in and day out to keep the site in top condition,' he added. Oddy visited his local Kubota dealer and explained that Orchard View Caravan Park encompasses five static caravans as well as 35 touring pitches, which are suitable for caravans, motor homes and tents, across more than three acres of levelled grassland. The grassland is extremely fast growing and as a result he was looking for a machine that could cope with the demands of regular mowing from March through to November.
Oddy also wanted a tractor that offered the versatility for moving and turning grass cuttings and compost, a front loader to manoeuvre gravel for individual pitch preparation, and the ability to tow a trailer. With this in mind, his dealer recommended the Kubota BX2350 sub-compact tractor because of its high power-to-weight ratio, which means that it combines the performance and versatility of a compact tractor with the agility of a ride-on mower. The BX2350 features a 23hp three-cylinder diesel engine, together with 4WD traction, turf tyres and independent mid and rear PTO.
Equipped with hydrostatic power steering, cruise control and mid-mounted deck offering three widths, it is purpose-designed to deliver high productivity and operator efficiency for all-year-around, cost-effective working. It can be fitted with a variety of different attachments, including flail mowers, grass collectors and loaders. Oddy said: 'The BX2350 is easy to operate, the spring seat is really comfortable and it is handy both for accessing confined spaces such as around the caravans and for putting gravel down.
'It's also really quiet, which is important because although our guests like to see neatly mowed grass around the site, we are known for our peace and tranquillity, so they don't really want the sound of us mowing to be overpowering,' he added. As well as recommending the right machine for the job, Oddy believes that Kubota dealer TNS also offered very good after-sales support. The company specifically made a tow bar for the BX2350 so that he could attach his grass box and is always on-hand to provide ongoing maintenance and servicing whenever required.
