Polyworks Software Offers Parametric 2D Sketching
Innovmetric Software has announced that v12 of its Polyworks/Modeler will offer new parametric 2D sketching capabilities to allow true interoperability with CAD/CAM applications. In such applications the role of Polyworks is to optimise geometric entity creation on digitised polygonal models and accelerate the production of 100 per cent native models in professional CAD software.
The Polyworks v12 parametric sketcher will support: arc, line, circle, and spline entities; automatic and interactive entity creation and editing; relational constraints between entities (horizontal, vertical, tangent, perpendicular); and dimensional constraints between entities. Sketches will be exportable to the IGES format.
Plug-ins for Solidworks and Autodesk Inventor CAD software are initially planned and will allow the import of sketch entities and constraints. The Polyworks V12 parametric sketcher will be jointly demonstrated by Innovmetric Software and Duwe 3D at Euromold 2010 on 1-4 December in Frankfurt, Germany.
