Training Session to Focus on MSI Safety Controller

Following on from March's session on Sistema, Leuze Electronic's next free training session will focus on the programming, installation and commissioning of its new MSI 100 safety controller. The session will cover the basics of machine safety, why it is done and how it should be done. Leuze Electronic will aim to demonstrate why machine safety is neither complicated nor difficult if you have the right supplier. Safety controller and machine safety workshops are scheduled for 7 and 8 June.

These free half-day workshops are intended to demonstrate Leuze Electronics' new safety controller and to explain the machine safety directives. Kevin Ellison, technical support engineer at Leuze Electronic, will present an introduction to machine safety topics, including CE and PUWER requirements; legislation; standards and their implications; and free tools and resources from Leuze Electronic. Andy Fereday, a regional account manager at Leuze Electronic, will run a hands-on workshop on the MSI 100, including an overview of features and benefits; how to program the MSI 100; simulation using the MSI 100 software; and its ease of installation.

Dates available include 7 June, 9:30 to 13:00 and 13:30 to 17:00, and 8 June, 9:30 to 13:00 and 13:30 to 17:00, all taking place at St Neots in Cambridgeshire. The MSI 100 safety controller has 20 safe inputs; light curtains; E-stop buttons; two-hand controls; safety interlocks; and four independent outputs. The MSI 200 is modular and expandable to 140 safety modules or 44 drive components. It also features light curtains, E-stop buttons, two-hand controls and interlocks. MSI-FB interface modules enable the MSI 100 or the MSI 200 to transfer diagnostic data to the programmable logic controller across a variety of fieldbuses.
