Welding Tables Ideal For Prototype Manufacture
Siegmund Group's Basic System welding and jigging tables for clamping, measuring, fixture construction, bending and folding are now available in the UK from Surface Technology Products. At the heart of the Basic-System is the universal ball bolt, which can be reliably fixed in place with one hand in a second. Compared with conventional work-tables and screw-clamps, the Basic System is said to guarantee faster set-up and changeover times, according to the company.
With more than 100 tools, the Basic system is ideal for the manufacture of prototypes and as the basic clamping system for series manufacture for both manual and robotics welding applications. The Basic System is manufactured from high-quality steel, guaranteeing long life and a high degree of dimensional precision, the company said. Tables are 25mm thick but have no skirts, no ribbing and are not nitrided. Table sizes range from 1 x 1m to 1,5m x 3m. Weight capacity for each leg is 250kg. Basic-System tables have 28mm holes for mounting of jogs and a 100mm grid for accurate setting up. Surtech has a demo table available, which can be viewed and tested in its showroom.
