Super Air Wipe Meets Drying/Cooling Requirements

The Super Air Wipe from Exair is ideal for wiping wire; drying inks, paints and screen printing; cooling hot extruded shapes; and blow-off of water, plating, coatings and dust. The Super Air Wipe produces a 360-deg airstream that can blow off, dry, clean or cool the material passing through it. The split design can be clamped around continuously moving material such as wire, cable, pipe, hose and extruded shapes.

The 1/2in Super Air Wipe ejects a small amount of compressed air through a thin slotted nozzle that pulls in high volumes of surrounding room air. The airflow uniformly ejects from the 360-deg of its inner diameter. Coupling brackets that hold each half of the 1/2in Super Air Wipe together can be latched together or removed quickly.

Additional shims can be installed if more blow-off force is required. Air velocity can be varied with instant 'on/off' control. Air consumption is 13.9scfm at 80psig and the sound level is low at only 75dBA. Super Air Wipes are available from stock in aluminium and stainless steel in diameters from 1/2in (13mm) up to 4in (102mm). Large diameters up to 11in (279mm) are available from stock in aluminium.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
