Ondrives Adds Double Spur Gears To Catalogue

Quality Grade 9 ISO 1328 is the standard chosen for Ondrives' new range of double and internal spur gears, which have been added to its 528-page gear-specific catalogue. 0.5 to 3.0 Mod are the standard sizes for the double gear range, with a corresponding range of teeth and bore sizes. Other bore sizes, different numbers of teeth and other materials are all available on request, with complete specials also easily accommodated.

The internal gears are also part of this commercial range of products and are available in 214M15 steel or delrin as standard. Sizes again range from 0.5 to 1.5 Mod as standard. Straight-cut spur gears of the same size are also available to order for use in conjunction with these internal gears as standard from the catalogue.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
