Murex Welding Machines Are Step Controlled

The Murex Transmig 300C and 350C step-controlled compact machines are suitable for heavy-duty and medium MIG or MAG welding applications within the metal fabrication industry. The Transmig 300C and 350C feature a sturdy construction and galvanised housings.

Designed for use within harsh industrial environments, the combination of 40 voltage steps and control software ensures the welding machines can be used for a broad range of materials and thicknesses. A small footprint makes these machines suitable for production booths and batch production applications. The Transmig 300C is capable of delivering 280A at a 30 per cent duty cycle, while the Transmig 350C gives 340A at a 30 per cent duty cycle.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved. However, if sizing at this level prevents the motor from starting, it may then be necessary to increase the fuse ampere rating and it then becomes important to know the NEC sizing limitations.
