EMKA Launches Hinges For Outdoor Signage Panels

EMKA's 1031, 1056 and 1097 hinges and door stays have been designed for situations where outdoor signage panels need to be opened or where vehicle locker doors need to be removed. Examples include frequent change signs at petrol stations, or storage lockers on breakdown trucks or emergency vehicles.

The 1031 range of internal hinges in zinc plate or AISI 304 stainless steel feature self-retaining pins, while the 1056 in zinc die or AISI 316 stainless are externally mounted lift-off hinges with fixed hinge pins. The 1031-U14 variant in AISI 304 incorporates spring loaded pins in a 126mm format. EMKA offers its 1097 range AISI 303 stainless-steel telescopic door stays with push-button release to ensure that, once opened, large doors/panels stay open as needed and keep personnel safe.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
