The 1DMax is a 1D code-reading algorithm that allows for the accurate reading of virtually every type of code, regardless of the size, quality, printing method or surface the codes are marked on. For 1D barcodes, the 1DMax is optimised for omnidirectional barcode reading and can handle extreme variations in code quality to achieve unsurpassed read rates, Cognex claims.

For 2D codes, Cognex 2DMax adopts 2D Data Matrix and QR coding to provide high read rates in hard-to-read direct-part-marking and high-speed printed applications. Cognex image-based readers also feature Cognex Connect Ethernet communications, auto-focus capabilities, multiple code reading in a single image, and image archiving.
