Lane Electronics signs-up for Supply Chain 21

Lane Electronics, leaders in the assembly and supply of electrical and electronic connector products and systems for the aerospace and defence industry, announces that it has joined the growing list of companies that have signed up to the Supply Chain 21 programme.

Perhaps more generally known as SC21, the programme is designed to increase the competitiveness of the aerospace & defence industry by improving the performance of its supply chains. According to those behind SC21, it is International competition, together with the challenges posed by the defence industrial strategy that necessitates rapid improvement in the effectiveness of UK supply chains.

According to Lane’s Managing Director Simon Hammerton signatories to SC21 are committed to developing supply chains to ensure they remain competitive and able to deliver increased value to customers.

“As a signatory to SC21, we accept that our adherence to the commitments will be tested annually and that our performance will be measured and published”. Says Simon Hammerton. “Part of our commitment to SC21 will be to help in its development by sharing experiences with fellow SC21 companies. It is quite exciting to be a part of a relatively new programme designed to improve not only our performance as a supplier, but also the aerospace and defence industry as a key sector.” adds Hammerton.
