Hermetical Feedthroughs for Optical Fibers - When It has to be Leakproof

With hermetic feedthroughs for optical fibers, optical signals can easily be delivered into a vacuum or pressure chamber. LASER COMPONENTS offers this components for pressures of up to 1000 bar and a vacuum as little as 10–9 mbar.

Different versions for single-mode and multi-mode fibers of the partner SEDI Fibres Optiques are available. In multi-mode fibers, core diameters of 50 µm to 1000 µm can be achieved. In single-mode fibers, it is possible to also use polarization-maintaining fibers. FC/PC and FC/APC connectors are available for these fibers; ST and SMA connectors for the multimode fibers.

Mounting these feedthroughs on a chamber wall is done using a simple mounting flange that holds the feedthrough steady with a counter nut. To meet the specifications required of vacuum technology, CF flange and KF flange versions are also available.

The hermetically sealed feedthroughs are available as coupler and as inline versions. Special designs that include customer-supplied speciality fibers, multiple channel designs, and optical/electrical hybrid feedthroughs are available upon request.
