Modernization of Testing Machines Now with TestControl II

From 2012 the new Zwick testControl II measurement and control electronics are also available as the ‘RetroLine tC II’ modernization package. Used in combination with drive replacement, modification of the existing sensor system and new testing software, the package allows cost-effective updating of older testing machines to state-of-the-art condition. Over the last twenty years Zwick has modernized more than 3,000 testing machines by over forty different manufacturers by the application of digital measurement and control electronics.

At the core of the modernization are the new testControl II control electronics, which besides setting new benchmarks in accuracy, control and acquisition rate also offer new application options through their high test and positioning speeds. An additional special feature is the integrated adaptive control, with automatic setting of all control parameters, online compensation for changes in specimen properties and sophisticated strain-rate control.
testControl II’s eight slots allow additional sensors and measuring instruments to be connected as and when required. Plug-in modules, such as the digital measured-value acquisition card and 2000 Hz online measured value transfer, enable user-oriented adaptation of this modular system in line with current testing requirements.

The entire test can be performed via the display-equipped remote control, independently of the PC. The machine can also be controlled directly through the electronics or via the software interface.

As well as new control electronics, modernization includes renewal of the drive and adaptation of the sensor system and accessories. If necessary, the testing system is equipped with new testing software. Zwick provides a 12-month warranty on new parts, extended to 60 months on conclusion of a service contract. Spare-part availability for the entire modernized machine (including non-Zwick machines) is guaranteed for a minimum of 10 years.
