TCXOs Suitable for Microwave Communications

Rakon's fully integrated RTX-A TCXOs are suitable for use in microwave communications, including ODUs and IDUs, LTE femtocells and smallcells, and IP timing. Offering a typical phase noise of -154dBc/Hz at 100kHz offset for a 50MHz TCXO, the RTX7050A (7 x 5) and RTX5032A (5 x 3.2mm) employ an analogue IC for both the oscillator and temperature compensation.

Frequencies are available from 5 to 52MHz. With frequency stability down to +/-0.1ppm, the RTX-A series is available over a temperature range of -40d to 85C.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
