Cerulean Launches Automated Tube-Testing Machine

Cerulean Packing is to launch Q-Test, an automated tube-testing machine designed for laminate and plastic tubes at Interpack 2011 in Dusseldorf on 12-18 May 2011. Q-Test is said to be suitable for manufacturers in the medical, personal care and consumer food product industries where high-quality packaging is essential.

Tube testing as part of the packaging process currently requires manual testing, which is time consuming and can be inconsistent. Cerulean said its Q-Test removes the need for manual testing and offers accuracy and repeatability as well as providing a full history of quantifiable results that can be used to help improve product quality.

When selecting the proper fuse for short circuit protection in motor starting applications, it is important to not only ensure that the fuse will not nuisance open during motor start up times, but also that the fuse will coordinate as required with overload relays. When sizing fuses between 125% and 150% of the motor nameplate current, several advantages, including ease of coordination with an overload device, a smaller disconnect, and increased short circuit protection from a lower fuse rating, can be achieved.
