M and P Launches Latest Vibration Testing Software

M and P has launched the latest version of its Vibcontrol Rev software, which is suitable for a range of vibration testing applications. Version 2.11 features a variety of improvements and additions, according to the company. For instance, in sine and random test modes, the user can now choose between online time data display and the normal frequency display for any input channel replacing external oscilloscope monitoring. Faster display updates also enhance this new feature.

In addition, the separate application architecture in Vibcontrol provides excellent user flexibility when wanting to multi-task between, for example, running a test while editing a new test or reporting on a previous run. For users who prefer an integrated single-task approach, the new auto-load and run toolbar button gives the option to directly execute the current test setup, further simplifying operation. Previously available in the Vibshockpulse utility, the user-defined pre- and post-compensation pulse selections are now integrated into the setup page within Vibedit.

Square and sine with/without decay options, together with the tolerance limit values, ensure optimum use of the shaker capability within velocity and displacement constraints. Other new features include: support for the Windows 7 operating system; enhanced multi-chart axis setup features for faster online chart setup; save and auto-load online display layouts for every different test, now available to optimise switching between tests; a TE display in SRS mode, which provides information about the effective shock duration to the latest MILSTD 810G requirements; and sweep rate (such as oct/min) entry for mixed-mode tone definition, simplifying setup.

Notching is now available in all mixed control modes (SoR/RoR/SoRoR). Notching now includes the RSS Vector and Summed force functions required for satellite testing, with notching data table import across many channels. The new software offers simplified data entry for crossover frequency calculations in sine sweep test.
