Eaton UPS Protects Computers Against Power Surges

Eaton has launched the 3S, an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) that is designed to protect home computers and office equipment against common power quality problems. These include power failure, sags and surges. It also covers peripherals, such as printers, using a transformer. The compact, offline UPS is available with eight IEC sockets. The power ratings of the Eaton 3S have been upgraded from those of the Eaton 3105, to 550VA and 700VA.

The 3S also features data line protection and USB connectivity. Eaton said the 3S is easy to implement as it automatically integrates with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems, so no drivers need to be installed. This ensures that the 3S works seamlessly with these operating systems' power management. A replaceable battery also helps to extend UPS service life. For advanced users, the 3S can also be monitored by Eaton's power management software.
