Choke Coil Delivers High Cut-Off Frequency

Designed specifically for USB 3.0 applications, Taiyo Yuden's CM01S600 common-mode choke coil delivers a 10GHz cut-off frequency. A higher cut-off frequency is especially necessary with the improvements in USB technology. USB is now available in version 3.0, with speeds 10 times faster than the previous version (USB 2.0). This version increases the speed of data transfer between PCs and mass storage devices, including external hard-disk drives and high-definition-compatible digital cameras.

USB 3.0 uses high-speed differential signal transmission, so practical applications require that the resulting common-mode noise be removed. Employing an extremely precise, wire-wound structure, the CM01S600 common choke coil responds to this demand, and delivers a 25 per cent higher cut-off frequency than previous products. The CM01S600 measures 1.2mm x 1mm (maximum height of 0.9mm).
