Indusoft Enhances Web Studio HMI/Scada Software
Indusoft has released its Web Studio v7.0 HMI/Scada software, featuring a new user interface and improved graphics tools for creating HMI and Scada applications for industrial automation projects. Additions to the software include improvements to the Rapid Application Configuration Environment (Race), an interface that was specifically designed to create an easy-to-use Scada application development environment. Additional graphic enhancements include customisable colour palettes and colour and pattern fill options for trends.
A new graphic feature supports dynamic rotation of bitmap images to create lifelike animated displays. The robust native Scada security supports Microsoft Active Directory using standard LDAP protocol, and offers security synchronisation between multiple IWS workstations. In addition, intellectual property protection has been added so that machine builders and integrators can protect their corporate custom functionality. Indusoft Web Studio v7.0 supports OPC UA and OPC Xi, in addition to bundling in nearly 250 drivers that communicate with PLCs and controllers from all major manufacturers.
Online and historical alarms and trending, recipes, reports and features such as patented SQL database connectivity, web publishing, e-mail and PDF publishing are all built in. A one-click multi-language translation feature allows users to read their application in their native language. Clicking 'automatic translation' allows the software package to communicate with Google Translate and bring back a translation. Words and phrases can even be fine-tuned to allow users to ensure the accuracy of translations.
Indusoft Web Studio is available with many new tag counts. This allows users to take advantage of the scalability of the Scada software. Those using Windows Embedded, or Windows CE can develop their application on any supported Microsoft operating system, and deploy it anywhere, while users on Windows 7, or Windows Server editions can use Indusoft to develop complex Scada projects to run on desktops or servers.
