Hirose Electric has launched the DF50 range of receptacles and headers, designed with space saving and durability in mind for applications requiring more strength. The double row, vertical housing and fine pitch of 1mm allow for maximum space saving on the board, which reduces the mounting area needed. The metal lock provides a consistent and positive tactile click, even with repetitive mating. This ensures the connector is fully engaged, guaranteeing complete electrical and mechanical connection. The lock is centred on the housing to avoid uneven locking and cable entanglement, which is common with side locks. The housings have been designed with thicker and more robust walls to prevent cracking. A long insertion depth and blade contacts are utilised to prevent damage against any wrenching forces. Baumer has launched a portfolio of robust pressure and level sensors that are suitable for high vibrations as well as for use with aggressive media. For example, sensors made of seawater-resistant Hastelloy C and with a ceramic sensing element are available for desalination plants. Flush-mount versions are offered for sewage applications. The devices can be configured on PC via the Flexprogrammer 9701. Pressure and level measuring devices for water-treatment applications have to be extremely robust. First, this concerns the materials used in instruments that are in contact with aggressive or corrosive media in applications such as desalination plants or sewage sludge processing. Second, the devices have to be highly resistant against vibrations, which are generated continuously - for example, in applications with volumetric pumps. Kistler 's piezoelectric torque sensors have a wide measuring range and are adaptable to match most configurations, making them suited to manufacturing-process monitoring. The sensors are available with measuring ranges of 1, 10, 25, 200 and 1,000Nm and all are suitable for torques from approximately 0.001Nm. The torque sensors are supplied calibrated for 100 and 10 per cent of the measuring range with additional calibration ranges available as an option. Installation is flexible as each sensor has an end flange with four or six threaded mounting holes and a centring seat for precise coaxial installation. Machine Building Systems ' new item transport track allows heavy goods to be transported easily and quietly. The transport track system tolerates soiling and is easy to assemble and can be added to any profile construction. Elevated transport tracks and suspended constructions are also possible. A typical assembly would comprise an aluminium-profile constructed carrier onto which is mounted four D60 PU roller units, which run in a parallel pair of track profile 8 80x40s. The modular design means that the carriers can be made to any size and the track profiles placed accordingly. The roller units (each with a load-bearing-capacity of 800N) are fitted with ball-bearing mounted polyurethane-tyres for smooth and quiet running and with spring-loaded lateral guide-wheels to provide sideways support.
