Emka Cam Adapter Cuts Online Production Costs

Image
Emka has introduced a three-point cam adapter that converts a low-cost single-point cam into a cam for a three-point locking system, reducing online production costs. This gives enclosure manufacturers a reduced stock requirement for varying cabinet-door sizes, typically leading to a 40 per cent reduction in stock costs on this component type. OEM/specialist cabinet producers up to now have needed to stock both single and three-point cams, but now only stock the popular and low-cost single-point item with a small quantity of adapters. The 1000 cam adapter is a precision zinc die component suitable for the complete range of Emka 1000 quarter-turn locks where the standard single-point cam is appropriate. Fixing is a single-bolt operation and may be carried out in cabinet manufacture, at installation, or as a retro-fit, by removing the cam fixing bolt and refitting, then installing the rod system to the door, thus providing two more closure points for improved sealing and security on lon...

EMKA Launches 3000 Program 19in RMU

EMKA has announced that the Can-Bus Elm cabinet locking and monitoring system has been made even simpler with its 3000 Program 19in RMU. The company said this takes advantage of the Elm system modularity to provide a complete cabinet solution in a compact 1U housing for quick and easy installation. Featuring a fully factory configured system, the 3000 Program 19in RMU comes with a communication module, control module for eight cabinet handles, a sensor module (for temperature or vibration monitoring, for example) and unit power supply ready to fit in plug-and-play mode. The standard Elm 1U rack module is quickly installed and connected to the sensors, cabinet handles and to other cabinets, speeding up the process of enhancing cabinet security. The Program 3000 Elm system is designed to meet the needs of modern security systems both in terms of personnel access, control/logging procedures and to handle increasing needs for internal cabinet environmental monitoring/control. It is based ...

EMKA Offers Quarter-Turn Locks In Mini Package

Image
EMKA 's 1022 programme quarter-turn locks or 'mini-locks' have the same capabilities as the larger versions but in a miniature package. The mini-locks are suitable for small cabinets, wall-mount enclosures, access panels or other housings. They are useful where space and design limitations demand easy operation as well as a good level of rugged serviceability, according to the company. The 1022 programme locks are also available with additional sealing rings for applications where protection to IP65 is important; for heavy dust environments, a special dust cap can further improve the sealing capability. The mini-locks are quick to fit and feature either a standard 14mm square hole for nut fixing or a 15 x 18mm double-D hole suitable for spring fix lock bodies, thus enabling quick installation in production situations (not to IP65). In order to cover a range of operational needs, the 1022 programme can be supplied with cylinder locks/inserts to take square or triangular keys...

EMKA Releases Fire-Resistant Self-Adhesive Gaskets

Image
EMKA has announced that its 1016 self-adhesive gasket is available in fire-resistant versions to UL94 VO and 94HB ratings, and in EMC formats to address electrical and magnetic interference. The expanded closed-cell neoprene comes in stock strips from 3 to 80mm thick and in standard widths from 10 up to 80mm, with complete custom capability - for example for sheets and punched shapes. EMC versions of the 1016 program have a conductive external skin to attenuate the transmission of electromagnetic interference across the sealed junction. Expected applications for 1016 gasket include gap sealing, noise reduction - for example from internal equipment - as well as vibration damping and impact cushioning on cabinets, furniture and machinery. 1016 series gaskets are produced in neoprene and EPDM and are are self adhesive to clean, non-porous surfaces such as painted/unpainted metal and plastics, or to seal natural materials such as varnished timber. Neoprene utilised in the 1016 program tol...
